EdRock Mission Statement

EdRock is an online platform and website designed specifically for international students. From the moment someone decides to study in Canada, EdRock is there to support them. Our goal is to make the journey of studying abroad easier, less stressful, and more successful by offering helpful academic and personal support.

In our first phase, we’ve launched online student clubs — safe spaces where students can connect with other students and even professors to ask questions, share experiences, and find answers to academic and migration-related challenges. These clubs are organized by university and field of study, helping students adapt more easily to the academic environment, language, and culture in a diverse, multicultural society.

In the next phases, EdRock plans to expand its services — including one-on-one online classes with multilingual instructors, academic and mental health counseling, an online library and store, housing and roommate support based on individual needs, and a smart academic assistant for fast, personalized guidance.

Our mission is to become a trusted companion and resource for international students. Whatever challenge they face, EdRock is here to help them find a solution — all in one place.

At EdRock, we aim to turn the journey of studying abroad from something stressful and uncertain into a positive, purposeful, and inspiring experience.

EdRock Vision

Our vision is to become the most trusted and widely used platform for international students in Canada — and eventually beyond. Not just as a support tool, but as a global student community where learners grow together from admission to graduation. We aim to create an inclusive, multilingual space that brings all academic, social, and personal student needs into one seamless experience.

Our Story – How EdRock Was Born

Hi, I’m Sina, the founder of EdRock. This startup was inspired by my personal journey as an international student — facing language barriers, academic pressure, cultural shock, and the overwhelming feeling of doing everything alone. I kept wishing there was a place where I could connect with others going through the same things, ask questions, and find support. During my studies, I presented the idea at the Hult Prize competition. While I didn’t win, one of the judges — a university professor — told me afterward: “Your idea is real and needed. Don’t stop here — go build it.” That moment stayed with me. By my third year, I had become the person students came to for help — whether it was finding a tutor, a roommate, a teammate for a project, or someone to explain a tough subject. Without realizing it, I was already building a version of EdRock in my everyday life. After graduation, I decided to take the idea seriously. Together with a dedicated and supportive team, we built EdRock — a platform designed to help international students feel connected, supported, and confident from day one.

Our Core Values

Respect & Inclusion

We welcome students from all backgrounds with fairness, honesty, and openness. Everyone deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported.

Empathy & Real Understanding

We've been through the international student journey ourselves. That's why we build with compassion and a deep understanding of real challenges.

Student-Centered Growth

Everything we create is designed around the needs of students — to support their academic, emotional, and personal development.

Innovation with Purpose

We use creativity and technology to make student life easier — helping them learn, connect, and grow in a changing world.

Empowerment through Community & Knowledge

We help students take control of their journey by connecting them to the right people, practical tools, and the confidence to move forward.

In 2023, EdRock was proudly selected to join the Treefrog Accelerator’s International Startup Program, where our team completed an intensive two-month incubation focused on validation, strategy, and execution.

As a result of our performance and potential, Treefrog issued an official Letter of Support, which played a crucial role in our successful startup-based immigration to Canada.

This recognition was more than just a milestone — it was a strong validation of our vision, team, and commitment to empowering international students.
